Als je Thermisia uitrijdt richting Ermione zie je een opvallende rots in noordelijke richting. Het is dan ook niet verwonderlijk dat er een kasteel op werd gebouwd. Het is een uitstekend uitkijkpunt om de baai en de zeestraat van Hydra te bekijken. Bovenop deze Hagedissenrots, 350 meter hoog, vind je het middeleeuwse Frankische kasteel van Thermisia . Het is een kruisvaardersbolwerk, gebouwd in de late 12e eeuw. De Franken verdedigden en heersten over het omliggende platteland en de Griekse kusten en zeeën. De waardevolle zoutpannen in de lagune beneden waren voor hen van groot belang. Het kasteel wordt voor het eerst genoemd in geschreven bronnen in 1347 als Tremis genoemd . Het kasteel is het ontdekken waard en de toegang is een relatief gematigde en veilige klim van 30 minuten.
