Zicht op de rivierbedding in de canyon. Deze bevat een staalkaart van verschillende soorten gesteenten die hoger gelegen zijn. Het grootste gedeelte van de rivierbedding bestaat uit kleine keiën die als een spons het water vasthouden. Ook al zie je het water hier niet aan de oppervlakte, het grind in de rivierbedding bevat nog heel wat vocht. Dat laat toe om hier in de droogste periode nog steeds een weelderige platnengroie te krijgen. Iets stoomafwaarts zal je ook nog een pomp aantreffen waar men het grondwater uit die grindlaten oppompt om de lager gelegen velden te irigeren.
