Aughanure Castle ligt ongeveer drie kilometer van Oughterard, dicht bij de oever van Lough Corrib in County Galway in de provincie Connacht in Ierland. De naam, afkomstig uit het Iers, betekent in het Nederlands: Taxusveld. Het is een Iers nationaal monument.
Het kasteel is een van de best bewaarde voorbeelden van een zogenaamd "Iers torenkasteel". Het staat op een vlakke rotsachtige uitsteeksel. Onder de rots bevinden zich opmerkelijke grotten. De plattegrond van het torenkasteel is bijna vierkant met een uitsteeksel aan de noordwesthoek, waar de rivier de Drimneen een toegangshindernis vormt. Twee segmenten van de buitenmuur zijn nog steeds aanwezig, de oudere wordt omringd door een jongere, veel grotere muur.
