Het Nationaal Museum van Ierland is de belangrijkste museuminstelling van Ierland, met een sterke nadruk op nationale en enkele internationale archeologie, Ierse geschiedenis, Ierse kunst, cultuur en natuurlijke geschiedenis. Het heeft drie vestigingen in Dublin en één in County Mayo.
Het Nationaal Museum van Ierland is ontstaan uit de samenvoeging van delen van de collecties van een aantal culturele instellingen in Dublin uit de 18e en 19e eeuw, waaronder de Royal Dublin Society en de Royal Irish Academy. De vroegste delen van de collecties bestaan voornamelijk uit geologische en mineralogische specimens, die de RDS verzamelde als een middel om de kennis en het gebruik van dergelijke hulpbronnen in Ierland te verbeteren. De oprichting van de museumcollecties wordt over het algemeen beschouwd als de aankoop van de collectie van Nathaniel Gottfried Leske in 1792.
