Villa di Livia bevindt zich in de Romeinse wijk Prima Porta; in de Romeinse tijd werd de plaats Ad Gallinas Albas genoemd. Ze werd aan het einde van de 1e eeuw v.Chr. gebouwd en behoorde waarschijnlijk toe aan Livia, de vrouw van keizer Augustus, en kan dus worden toegewezen aan de 2e stijl/architectonische stijl van de Pompejaanse muurschilderingen. De villa is tot op de dag van vandaag niet volledig opgegraven, omdat het terrein agrarisch wordt gebruikt. Door deze omstandigheid is de bouwvondst in gevaar en wordt deze voortdurend verder beschadigd.
