Ingo Maurer ontwierp voor Maupertuus (het onderkomen van Vos Interieur) een opmerkelijke lichtsculptuur, die deels buiten en deels binnen het gebouw is geplaatst.
Bovenop het dak van het woonwarenhuis is een grijze figuur te zien die op één been staat. Daarbij houdt hij ook nog eens een lamp en een stoel uitbundig in de lucht. Met een hoogte van twaalf meter is de sculptuur niet alleen een kunstwerk, maar fungeert het tevens als reclamezuil èn als stadsmarkering langs de A7.
Binnen in het gebouw is eenzelfde soort figuur te zien. Deze is echter uitgevoerd in de kleur geel en staat op zijn kop. Op één van zijn voeten balanceert een vaas.
Ingo Maurer is een internationaal bekend lichtontwerper. Enkele van zijn meest bekende lampen zijn ‘YaYaHo’, de ‘Mamo Nouchies’ en ‘La Bellissima Bruta’.
Vos Interieur bestaat dit jaar honderd jaar.
