Orthodox klooster in de Peel
De Orthodoxe Kerk is nog heel nieuw in Nederland. Vooral na de tweede wereldoorlog hebben enkele Nederlanders de orthodoxe Kerk leren kennen door de Russische emigranten, die hier enkele parochies geopend hebben. De kloosterlingen leiden een teruggetrokken leven van gebed en contemplatie, ongehuwd, in eenvoud met gezamenlijke kerkdiensten, maaltijden en zonder persoonlijk bezit. Zij werken binnen het klooster in gehoorzaamheid. Zij proberen door handwerk in hun eigen onderhoud te voorzien. Belangstellenden kunnen gebedsdiensten bijwonen en overnachten in het klooster om tot bezinning te komen.
