Boven-Leeuwen is een van de kernen van de gemeente West Maas en Waal in de Nederlandse provincie Gelderland. Op 1 januari 2021 telde het dorp 2.245 inwoners op een oppervlakte van 651 hectare.Boven-Leeuwen ligt tussen het grotere Beneden-Leeuwen en de gemeente Druten. Tot 1 januari 1818 vormden Boven- en Beneden-Leeuwen de gemeente Leeuwen, die op die datum opging in de gemeente Wamel. De gemeente Wamel ging in 1984 op haar beurt op in de gemeente West Maas en Waal, waartoe ook de plaatsen Alphen, Altforst, Appeltern, Dreumel, Maasbommel en Wamel behoren.
