Pernis is een dorp tussen de havens van de gemeente Rotterdam in de Nederlandse provincie Zuid-Holland op het eiland IJsselmonde. Het dorp telt 4.850 inwoners en heeft een oppervlakte van 1,6 km². Pernis ontstond waarschijnlijk in de dertiende eeuw en werd pas in 1934 geannexeerd door de gemeente Rotterdam. Het heeft ondanks de nabijheid van de grote stad zijn dorpse karakter behouden. De bevolking bestaat voor het overgrote deel uit autochtonen.
