De Catharinakapel stamt uit de elfde/twaalfde eeuw en is het oudste zaalkerkje van Nederland in haar oorspronkelijke staat. De Catharinakapel was tot 1901 de kerk van Lemiers.
Rond 1975 waren er plannen de kapel opnieuw een kerkelijke functie te geven. Hans Truijen beschilderde daartoe in 1978 het volledige interieur, in een expressionistische stijl.
De combinatie van eeuwenoude kapel en moderne schilderingen is bijzonder en zal je beroeren.
