De Zeestraat in Den Haag is het verlengde van het Noordeinde richting Scheveningen. Aan de straat liggen tientallen rijksmonumentale gebouwen.
Tot het einde van de 17de eeuw lag Den Haag voornamelijk binnen de singels. Tussen Den Haag en Scheveningen waren duingebieden waar gejaagd werd, waar molens en een enkele boerderij stonden, waar schapen liepen en waar landgoederen lagen zoals Zorgvliet en Clingendael.
