De rij huisjes in de bocht van de Vecht tussen Loenen en Vreeland heet de Glashut. De naam herinnert aan de glasfabriek die hier eind 19de eeuw stond, bij buitenplaats Oostervecht. Hier werden flessen gemaakt voor brouwerijen en stokerijen in Amsterdam en omgeving. De Glashut bestaat uit huisjes die speciaal voor de fabrieksarbeiders gebouwd werden, een hele luxe in die tijd! Omdat de arbeiders vaak uit Duitsland kwamen, werd de naam 'Glashutte' gebruikt, wat glasoven betekent. Rond 1970 zijn de huisjes deels samengevoegd en gerestaureerd.
