Het laagste punt van Nederland bevindt zich in een weiland in de Zuidplaspolder ten noordoosten van Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. Het ligt op een hoogte van 6,76 meter onder NAP. Aan de rand van dit weiland langs de snelweg A20 staat het monument laagste punt van Nederland. De voet van dit monument stemt overeen met het niveau van het laagste punt.
