Naast het bouwen/ontwerpen van een woonwijk in Rijnsweerd kreeg architect Ton Alberts rond 1978 van de projectontwikkelaar De Waal de opdracht om zijn eigen woonhuis te ontwerpen. Duidelijk is dat hierbij nog meer ruimte voor organische architectuur was, en is dit huis op een organische wijze tot stand gekomen tussen opdrachtgever, ontwerpers en uitvoerders. Het huis werd voorzien van een casco van gewapend beton. De buitengevels werden in baksteen uitgevoerd en dit werd ook in het interieur doorgevoerd.
