Eijsden heeft haar eigen Vrijheidsbeeld. Ter ere van 70 jaar bevrijding van Eijsden in 2015 maakten leerlingen van groep 6, 7 en 8 van Basisschool de Cramignon kleine sculpturen uit was en hout in het thema ‘vrijheid’.
De kinderen vroegen zich af: ‘Wie of
wat wil ik beschermen of koesteren?’. Samen met de kunstenaar maakten de kinderen er één groot beeld van dat later in aluminium is gegoten. Nu pronkt het op een grasveld tussen de bieb en de school.
