In Waterdunen komt alles samen: zilte getijdennatuur, recreatie, kustverdediging en een proeftuin voor zilte teelten. Dit prachtige natuurgebied is in 2022 geopend en nog altijd volop in ontwikkeling. Ondanks dat het gebied nog maar net open is, zie je hier al grote hoeveelheden vogels en planten. De zilte natuur in Waterdunen heeft zich snel ontwikkeld. Tijdens je wandeling kom je verschillende vogelkijkhutten en kijkschermen tegen. Vanuit deze vogelhutten bekijk je de vogels van dichtbij zonder dat ze jou zien!
Waterdunen laat zien dat Zeeland vandaag de dag anders met water omgaat. Waterdunen combineert natuur, recreatie en getijdenwerking in een innovatieve kustversterking met veiligheid als randvoorwaarde. Kortom, Waterdunen is een prachtig wandelgebied. Om de rust te behouden mag er niet gefietst worden.
