Prešernov trg is one of the intersection squares in Ljubljana. It is named after the Slovenian poet France Prešeren. It is located above the left bank of the Ljubljanica River by the Triple Bridge, opposite the medieval town center. Because of its location, Prešernov trg is one of the most transit points in Ljubljana. It features the Prešeren monument, which is one of the most well-known monuments in Ljubljana. This is the work of architect Maks Fabiani, who envisioned the base and location of the monument at the confluence of Miklošičeva and Čopova streets. In memory of the poet France Prešeren, the monument was ceremoniously unveiled on September 10, 1905.
