De boeddhistische tempel van het dorp Ban Pang heette oorspronkelijk Wat Chom Sari Saimun Bunruang en was gelegen in het dorp. Later werd de tempel herbouwd op de heuveltop nabij het dorp onder leiding van Kruba Srivicahi, een zeer gerespecteerde boeddhistische monnik in Noord-Thailand.
Toen Kruba Srivichai op 21 februari 1938 op 60-jarige leeftijd overleed, werd zijn lichaam een jaar lang in de tempel bewaard voordat het op 21 maart 1946 een koninklijke crematie kreeg in de koninklijke tempel van Wat Chamma Thewi in Lamphun. De pavilion waar Srivichai‘s relieken een jaar lang waren vereerd, is een open gebouw met een vierkant dak in vijf lagen. Het is daarom een belangrijk historisch gebouw en is bewaard en hersteld.
