De oblast Charkov is een in het noordoosten van Oekraïne gelegen oblast, die grenst aan de Russische Federatie. De oblast werd gesticht op 27 februari 1932; voor die tijd stond het gebied bekend als Slobodsko-Oekraïense goebernia en Goebernia Charkov . Ruim de helft van de bevolking woont in de hoofdstad, de gelijknamige stad Charkov, die van 1919 tot 1934 ook hoofdstad van de Oekraïense Socialistische Sovjetrepubliek was. .
