De film Ocean's 11 met George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Julia Roberts, Matt Damon, Andy Garcia,.. speelt zich af in Las Vegas. De film is gebaseerd op een oudere versie met 'The Rat Pack' Frank Sinatra, Dean martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Joey Bishop en Peter Lawford. De 'Rat Pack' zat veel in het casino 'the Sands'. Dit casino moest later plaats maken voor het nieuwe casino The Venetian. Voor de opening van 'the Venetian' kon eigenaar Sheldon Adelson Sophia Loren naar Las Vegas krijgen. Hij kreeg ook de burgemeester van Venetië op bezoek, maar die was niet zo gelukkig met de zwakke 'copy' van zijn stad.
