Naast het Noorderbos werden in 2007 de eerste 46 bomen van het Geboortebos geplant. Het Geboortebos moet symboliseren dat alle kinderen het recht hebben om op te groeien in een gezonde leefomgeving. Ouders bepalen zelf of ze een boom kopen. Van elke jaargang worden de namen van de borelingen op plaquettes in het bos vermeld. Bijzonder aan het Tilburgse Geboortebos is dat het is gekoppeld aan een soortgelijk bos in Matagalpa. Voor iedere boom in Tilburg wordt er een in de zusterstad in Nicaragua geplant. De Stichting Nationale Boomfeestdag begon al in 1990 met het planten van bomen voor nieuwe wereldburgers in Geboortebossen.
