Pays des Collines is a beautiful natural area with heavily wooded regions (such as the beautiful forests of Bois d'Hubermont, Bois de St-Amand, Bois d'Antoing,...) carved out by small river valleys, and also many open fields and meadows. In short: a huge diversity. Pays des Collines is a strongly carved interfluve between the Scheldt Valley in the west and the Dender Valley in the east. The highest hilltops are located about 150 meters above sea level. It is a continuation of the Flemish Ardennes south of the language border near the witch village of Ellezelles.
