The Parkstadroute is a beautiful cycling route through the heart of South Limburg, but perhaps a bit too long to bike in one go. Fortunately, there is a smart solution: the shortcut route. This allows you to easily split the route into two relaxing day trips, each with its own charm.

For example, you can start at the golf course in Voerendaal and cycle through the fairy-tale Castle Terworm towards Heerlen. In the buzzing center of Heerlen, it's lovely to take a break: go shopping, grab a terrace, or simply enjoy the atmosphere. After that, you cycle back into nature via the green Park Meezenbroek, where you pick up the Parkstadroute and continue riding north or south.

Prefer the other way around? That's fine too. Start on the Parkstadroute and halfway use the shortcut to return to Voerendaal. The shortcut route is fully signposted via the cycling junction network and is easy to follow in both directions. On the Parkstadroute itself, white dots and arrows on the asphalt guide your way.

Whether you choose one long ride or two shorter trips, with the Parkstadroute, you experience the best of the region at your own pace.
