Cycling 2015 Col de la Colombiere

Beautiful not too long loop with an ascent from Scionzier / Cluses. This side is tough but very beautiful. I couldn't manage the last part in one go and had to give in to the mountain several times, pressing the brakes to prevent going backwards. Hence the difficulty level of 9. For a recreational cyclist, it’s a wonderful experience and from the top, after coffee and delicious fruit cake, a magnificent descent to Grand Bornand. Note: don’t take the bridge but keep right where the road bends. This is also a lovely section. If you miss the turn and want to maintain your descent speed? No problem, because further on you can also go right. But you miss a nice part. The return on D12 is usually downhill. You might think it’s strange, "haven't I already had the descent?". Not quite yet. A little terrace in Bonneville. And then back to the hotel in Châtillon Cluses.
