LF Coast Route (part)

Cycling along the Dutch Coast means cycling with the wind in your hair. Sometimes with the wind, sometimes against it, but you always 'taste' the delightful coastal feeling. The 610 km long LF Coastal Route is characterized by elongated dune strips along the Dutch coast and through the South Holland and Zeeland islands. Small seaside resorts and historic towns provide nice stops along the route. Along the Wadden coast, the route runs through one of the quietest and least populated areas of the Netherlands with various authentic (terp) villages and towns. The route forms the Dutch part of the International North Sea Cycle Route, EuroVelo 12, which runs over 7,000 km through eight countries around the North Sea.

We cycled 170 km of the route from Breskens to Katwijk aan Zee, where we switched to the Limes Route (see cycling routes you might also want to ride). We were also guided by the cycling booklet LF1 North Sea Route (2015-2nd edition) by Bas van der Post, a publication from Buijten & Schipperheijn Recreatief.
