Weite Felder auf sanften Hügeln und dazwischen: geheimnisvolle Großsteingräber, eine prächtige Barockkirche im Dörfchen Voltlage, Fachwerk und urwüchsige Natur. Ein guter Startpunkt für den romantischen Rundkurs ist die neugotische St. Lambertus-Kirche in Merzen. Wer hier die 39 steigungsarmen Kilometer im Uhrzeigersinn angeht, erreicht
zunächst das Großsteingrab am Wiemelsberg bei Ueffeln, eine der besterhaltenen
Megalithanlagen weit und breit.

Vergleichen Sie selbst: Kurz vor der Rückkehr nach Merzen finden Sie den Steingräberweg am Giersfeld. Bei einem kurzen Waldspaziergang entdecken Sie hier neun weitere Beispiele steinzeitlicher Baukunst. Der Tipp fürs romantische Picknick unterwegs: der liebliche Wacholderhain in Plaggenschale.
