Die Säule der Ponte di Romana hat eine besondere Geschichte. Ein Dokument sagt uns, dass es verwendet wurde, um eine Flagge mit einem Bild eines Pferdes anzubringen, das den Pferdemarkt in der Gegend ankündigte.
Überall in Siena findet man die säugende Wölfin. Die Geschichte besagt, dass Siena von den Söhnen von Remus gegründet wurde. Wir alle kennen Remus aus der Gründungsgeschichte Roms. Er soll zusammen mit seinem Bruder Romulus von einer Wölfin aufgezogen worden sein.
