Description by the author

Because of its location on the border with the Charentes region, the commune of Donnezac is situated in the Gabaye region which links the ancient provinces of Saintonge and Guyenne between the Oil language and the Oc language. You can still hear a dialect inspired by Saintongeais and Occitan. The communal territory is covered with 70 % by the forest. The maritime pine dominates very largely. On certain plots when the forest is no longer exploited, nature takes over. The birch, the chestnut tree and the oak rise in the middle of the pines to compose a very pleasant forest in all seasons

Before you leave, we advise you to discover the school (at the crossroads towards Saint Savin/Reignac).

Particularly suitable for mountain biking because of the many passages in the forest.
