In questa impegnativa tappa si può ammirare esaustivamente la varietà paesaggistica del gruppo del Rofan: a sud con i dolci pendii erbosi, a nord con le imponenti formazioni rocciose e le ripide pareti. Passato il maso Durrahof si segue il Sentiero Europeo E4 fino a Labegg-Graben. In fine il percorso porta attraverso la Schauertal fino all'idilliaco laghetto Zirainer See. È incredibilmente profondo fino a 200 metri e talmente freddo che occorre coraggio persino per immergerci le dita dei piedi. Ma si può sempre fare come la cima Rofanspitze, che si accontenta di rispecchiarsi nelle sue chiare acque cristalline. Se le condizioni sono favorevoli si può percorrere il sentiero Schafsteig fino poco sotto la cima Rofanspitze e proseguire fino al rifugio Erfurter Hütte accanto alla stazione a monte della funivia del Rofan.
