Questo museo ospita decine di opere di uno dei più importanti artisti espressionisti fiamminghi. La collezione copre il periodo 1915 - 1943. Della fase Smets Deurlese sono esposte 34 opere, tra cui Il sole del villaggio del 1928. Il Museo Gust De Smet è un lascito della vedova del pittore al comune di Deurle. È la casa e lo studio dell'artista, dove visse e lavorò dal 1935 al 1943.
