La diga di Vassivière sul fiume Maulde alimenta la centrale idroelettrica sotterranea di Mazet a Peyrat-le-Château. Oltre a produrre elettricità per 40.000 persone all'anno (l'equivalente della città di Brive), questo sito contribuisce a mantenere il livello basso delle acque della Vienne e, grazie al suo lago, è un'importante attrazione turistica nel cuore della regione del Limousin.
