De Overmolen is gelegen aan de Blekte op enkele meters afstand van fietsknooppunt 25. Dit is de laatste van de drie watermolens die Hofstade ooit kende. Het waterrad is verdwenen. Binnenin de molen liggen nog drie steenkoppels. De watermolen zelf is helaas niet beschermd maar prijkt gelukkig wel op de lijst van waardevol erfgoed. Origineel mondde de Molenbeek in Hofstade uit in de 'Oude Dender' bij het dorp. Later liep de beek via deze Oude Dender door tot in Gijzegem. Tegenwoordig werd de Molenbeek even verder volledig overwelfd en vloeit zij onzichtbaar verder, onder de Hendrik Consciencestraat naar haar 'nieuwe' monding in de Dender, aan het einde van deze straat.
