Deze maïssilo was het eerste betonnen gebouw dat ooit in Zulte werd opgericht. Het werd ontworpen als graanopslagplaats voor de bierbrouwerij 'Anglo Belge' in Zulte. Van hieruit werd geleverd aan meer dan 70 brouwerijen en stokerijen in de streek. Tijdens W.O. II, tijdens de Slag aan de Leie werd het gebouw zwaar beschadigd. In 1971 werden alle economische activiteiten stopgezet en werd het industriële gebouw omgebouwd tot private lofts.
Bij deze verbouwingen werden de kogelinslagen behouden als herinnering wat hier gebeurd is.
