De Capela das Quedas (Kapel van de Vallen) is de negende kapel in de Via Sacra van Bom Jesus.
Ze beeldt de momenten uit waarop Jezus valt terwijl hij zijn kruis draagt op weg naar Golgotha. Volgens de traditie viel Jezus drie keer onder het gewicht van het kruis, vanwege de uitputting door zijn geseling en de zware last. Hoewel de Bijbel dit niet expliciet vermeldt, wordt het moment symbolisch gezien als Jezus’ worsteling met lijden en opoffering.
In de kapel zie je Jezus op de grond, onder het gewicht van het kruis, zichtbaar uitgeput. Romeinse soldaten sporen hem aan om op te staan. Simon van Cyrene wordt gedwongen om het kruis te helpen dragen. Maria en andere omstanders kijken vol medelijden toe. Een sfeer van pijn, maar ook vastberadenheid, omdat Jezus ondanks alles weer opstaat.
