Palazzolo er den ekstreme nordlige aflægger af Janiculum-højen, som strækker sig mod Vatikan-bakken, i Borgo rione, i Rom.
Toponymet stammer fra nogle romerske ruiner beliggende på højen, kaldet "Palatiolum Neronis", fordi de antages at være resterne af et lille palads ejet af Nero. I Middelalderen blev det også kaldt "mons Neronis", Palaceolum eller Palazzola. Det nævnes to gange i graveringen Grande Veduta del Tempio e del Palazzo Vaticano, udført af Giovanni Maggi og Giacomo Mascardi i 1615, og offentliggjort af Fader Ehrle.
