Did you know that Wellen had a famous resident who was once again the cause of the famous Stockholm syndrome? It was the gangster Clark Olofsson, who was known in Wellen as writer Daniel Demuynck. He lived in an old castle in Wellen where he and his gang regularly held parties. Clark Olofsson had good looks, a charismatic personality, and great intelligence. During one of the most famous robberies in Sweden, he managed to completely convince the hostages to trust, support and protect the hostages. That was on August 23, 1973 in the Sveriges Kreditbanken on the chic Norrmalmstorg Square.
Later, Clark Olofsson would end up here in Wellen. There's even a Netflix series made about him: "Clark".
