The chapel is located on the corner of the legeweg and Vivensteenweg.
The chapel was built in 1954 (start of works on Easter Monday) under the impulse of pastor Van den Broucke. The land for the chapel was donated by Alfons Viaene – Elodie De Sutter.
On Sunday May 15, 1954, the statue of the Virgin of the Poor was blessed between Vespers and Praise and then carried in procession to the new field chapel.
