En el centro de la plaza encontrarás una hermosa escultura con fuente. Esta es una obra de Paul Van Gysegem. El hombre y la mujer representan el Escalda y el Leie. Ambos ríos están simbolizados nuevamente por las dos fuentes de agua que se unen en el centro donde se encuentra la escultura. Los soportes angulares de la escultura sugieren un paso, una puerta. Esta es una referencia a la estación de San Pedro, para muchos la moderna puerta de entrada a la ciudad.
