Il faro di Helgoland si trova sulla parte alta dell'isola di Helgoland. Nelle immediate vicinanze si trova una torre di direzione. Il faro è stato costruito durante la seconda guerra mondiale come torre di flak o stazione di controllo flak ed è stato messo in servizio nel 1952 come nuovo faro in sostituzione del vecchio distrutto in guerra. La torre possiede il focolaio più potente sui fari tedeschi, visibile in notti chiare fino a una distanza di 28 miglia nautiche.
