Monumento emblemático de Cahors, el puente Valentré fue edificado a partir de 1308 por iniciativa de los cónsules de la ciudad. Totalmente construido en piedra de sillería, mide 172 m longitud, compuesto de 8 arcos y 3 torres, culminando estas últimas a más de 40 m por encima del nivel de agua. Terminado hacia 1380, siempre fue bien cuidado. En 1998, el puente fue inscrito por la UNESCO en la lista del patrimonio mundial en el marco de los caminos de Santiago de Compostela.
