Le sentier du garde forestier du Harz permet aux randonneurs de découvrir sur près de 60 kilomètres la beauté du paysage, la diversité des habitats ainsi que les particularités historiques de louest du Harz.
Le sentier du garde forestier du Harz commence directement au palais impérial de Goslar, passe au-dessus dAstfeld jusquà la retenue de Granetal et de là à la retenue dInnerste, gravit les hauteurs près de Lautenthal et Seesen, mène au-dessus de Wildemann et Bad Grund jusquà Clausthal-Zellerfeld et Buntenbock pour descendre par Lerbach, longer la retenue de Söse pour finir à Riefensbeek-Kamschlacken.
