El agua fluye hacia el lago desde la montaña Phanom Rung y la montaña Prai Bat a través de un canal de entrada en el oeste del baray, en un área llamada "Saphan Khom" o puente Khmer. Saphan Khom se encuentra en Ban Khok Muang en el subdistrito Chorakhe Mak, del distrito Prakhon Chai, en la provincia de Buriram, en el borde occidental de Barai Muang Tam (el embalse). La palabra “Saphan Khom” se deriva del nombre local; “Saphan” significa el puente, y “Khom" significa el Khmer porque solía ser un puente de madera sustentado por antiguos restos de laterita Khmer. Sin embargo, esta estructura es un antiguo muro de contención utilizado para drenar agua al embalse. Se puede datar del siglo XI d.C. Este monumento antiguo fue excavado en 2014 y 2019 d.C. y restaurado mediante la técnica de anastilosis en 2020 - 2021 d.C. (Fuente: cartel informativo del Departamento de Bellas Artes en situ)
