Levern est un quartier de la commune de Stemwede dans le district de Minden-Lübbecke en Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie. Il compte environ 2000 habitants. Depuis 1984, le lieu est reconnu comme station de loisir. Ce statut est garanti jusqu'en 2023.
Levern a été mentionné pour la première fois dans un document entre 969 et 996. En 1227, Konrad I de Rüdenberg, évêque de Minden de 1209 à 1236, a fondé un monastère cistercien à Levern. Le monastère n’existait déjà plus en 1543 ; pendant la Réforme, le monastère a été transformé en une institution laïque noble pour femmes.
