At the Carlos Dierickx Square, we stop at the 16th-century blue stone Kwintie, integrated to the right in a reconstruction of a feudal vierschaar, an old form of justice that took place outdoors. In the middle stands the coat of arms of St. Bavo. St. Martinus Asper was under the patronage of the St. Bavo Abbey of Ghent. Carlos Dierickx, who served as mayor of Asper and Gavere after the merger for almost half a century, has his statue in his square.
The old Romanesque St. Martinus church tower of Asper dates back to the 12th century.
