Innsbruck ['ɪnsbrʊkʰ] es una ciudad del oeste de Austria, capital del estado de Tirol. Está localizada en el valle del Eno, en medio de altas montañas, el Nordkette al norte, Patscherkofel y Nockspitze al sur. Es de fama internacional por la práctica de deportes invernales.Fue una de las ciudades imperiales de la Casa de Habsburgo.[1] Inicialmente constituía un enclave fortificado en 1180, Innsbruck se convirtió en ciudad a principios del siglo XIII, y suplantó a Merano como capital del Tirol en 1420.[2] Su historia esta ligada a nombres como Philippine Welser o Andreas Hofer. Sin embargo fue Maximiliano I, Emperador del Sacro Imperio Romano Germánico, la personalidad de más conocida, que legó a la ciudad una herencia de joyas culturales como el “Tejado Dorado”.[3]
