The Grand Large is a small artificial lake (surface area of 40 ha) a few kilometers from the center of Bergen. There is a harbor for 157 boats with access to two canals: the Centrumkanaal and the Nimy-Blaton-Péronne canal.
The Grand Large is located next to the railway line between Bergen and Quiévrain, which runs over a railway bridge across the Nimy-Blaton-Péronne Canal. The purpose of the lake is mainly for recreation.
