Dit museum werd opgericht in 1876 en is een van de rijkste musea in het zuidwesten van Frankrijk. Het is gehuisvest in 4 renaissance herenhuizen in het historische hart van de stad en biedt een breed overzicht van de kunstgeschiedenis. Het museum staat bekend om zijn rijke collectie Spaanse werken, waaronder schilderijen van Goya.
