Den oprindelige kirke lå faktisk på det lille område, hvor biler nu parkerer, på den tidligere kirkegård blev den nuværende kirke bygget i 1922, efter ødelæggelserne under 1. verdenskrig. Kirken er neogotisk og blev designet af det østenderiske arkitektpar Pil og Carbon. Overfor den gamle kirke lå herremændene fra Westendes gård (domus Weinini). I dag står der en nybygning, så der er intet tilbage af den oprindelige voldhøj med op- og nedgård.
