Hageland skiller sig fra andre regioner ved sine Diestianske eller vidnesbyrdshøje. Disse højder er de sandbanker, der blev tilbage, da Diestiansøen trak sig tilbage for omkring 7 millioner år siden. Så snart sandbanken kom i kontakt med luften, oxiderede jernet, og sandet klistrede sammen til en hård, rustbrun jernsandsten. Her finder du forskellige af disse vidnesbyrdshøje i kanten af dalen. Højden her er omgivet af fyrretræer fra Molenberg. Længere på vandringen passerer du også Hooilandse bjerget.
