Bispen i Liège er den ældste af de otte belgiske bispedømmer. Det fejrede sin ottende hundrede fødselsdag i 1991. Indtil 1795 var det et germansk bispedømme, efter konkordatet med Napoleon var det i en periode fransk; først efter den belgiske revolution i 1830 blev den belgiske kirkeprovins oprettet. Den nuværende biskop af bispen i Liège er Jean-Pierre Delville. Han er den 92. biskop. Katedralen for bispen er Sankt Paulus-katedralen. Indtil 1794 var det den i det år ødelagte Sankt Lambertus-katedral.
